Hot or Not or something we aren't seeing...
So for about the fifty millionth time today I witnessed the damage that can be done by a simple phrase. Heck it's not even a phrase it's a stupid word! People drop the word "Hot" in reference to guys or gals dependent every day but have you ever thought about what you're saying? You want to talk about making someone into a piece of meat that's a good start. Hey I gotta say those of us Christians out there must really be showing the world who we are when we're using that one eh guys? Have any of you ever wondered where these feelings of inferiority start? Don't blame the media, blame all of us who have ever used a term like "hot" about the opposite sex when others of them are around. Ya that's what I got to witness today; another guy that thinks he can't ever be worth a girls time. I don't want to think how many times of seen that happen to guys and girls. Man, sometimes you can see them react right away, it's like their cutting another notch on their soul, just one more reason they'll never be good enough. It makes me mad!!! You know I can get annoyed, frustrated or upset but I don't often get mad. This really makes me mad because this is the casual cruelty we ignore in our daily lives. How can we do this to each other. How can you who actually have a significant other ever call someone "hot" while their around, even jokingly? Do you have any idea how much that kills them? Yes you do, it's there inside of you, even if you won't admit it. It's the same feeling you get when thee tables are turned, no matter how much you'd like to pretend. You know what I don't even consider those terms a complement no matter who their directed at. Frankly they are nothing but a derogatory term, an insult, and solid proof that for all our words that beauty is on the inside we still know what we prefer. You know what I don't have it in me any more to give this rant the passion it deserves because I've met my demons and I've learned to walk away but there are a lot of you out there that haven't had that chance yet through no fault of your own. It is for your sake that I say we have to stop this and I will do my best not to use, and to encourage others not to use, these terms in casual conversation. Remember guys it's all about RESPECT.
